Deathloop er så sandelig ikke noget grimt spil, men den stiliserede grafik skriger ikke ligefrem next-gen ved første øjekast. Alligevel siger udvikleren Arkane, at det simpelthen ikke ville have været muligt at bringe spillet til PlayStation 4 og Xbox One uden store ofringer.
I den seneste udgave af Play (som du kan finde her) siger instruktør Dinga Bakaba, at de eksempelvis ville være tvunget til at opdele spillets verden i flere dele.
"I don't think that we would have been able to preserve the level of ambition of this game were it not for the move to next-gen. It's always heartbreaking when you get to the end of a project, and you have to optimise things, and now you have to cut your map in half and you have to justify why it's in two parts."
Spillet lader endelig til at udkomme til september.
