EA kom i et stormvejr af intergalaktiske dimensioner, da Star Wars Battlefront II var lidt for aggressive med sine mikrotransaktioner og loot boxes. Måske er det derfor, at EA med deres nye Star Wars: Squadrons vælger en helt anden strategi:
"Never say never, so to speak, but as far as our philosophy goes we're not trying to treat the game as a live service," fortæller Ian Frazier, Creative Director på Star Wars: Squadrons til mediet UploadVR.
"We've tried to treat it in kind of an old-school approach saying, 'You've paid the $40, this is the game and it's entirely self-contained. We're not planning to add more content, this is the game, and we hope you understand the value proposition," lyder det endvidere fra Ian Frazier.
Star Wars: Squadrons er udviklet af canadiske Motive Studios, der også også assisterede Dice på produktionen af Star Wars Battlefront II, og skal man tage udtalelserne for gode varer, kan de altså allerede nu begynde at fokusere på nye projekter.
