Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII blev for mange år siden introduceret som en prequel til det ikoniske Final Fantasy VII, og blev til at starte med designet til PSP. Men spillet har nu fået stort set samme behandling som Remake, og er tilsyneladende lavet i samme grafikmotor.

Denne nye version af spillet kommer til PS5, Xbox Series, PC og Switch (samt last-gen) i løbet af vinteren.
